Why I did it...
A few years ago now, I was invited to go long range shooting with some friends in the SW Idaho desert... Well, in the winter, that desert is cold and windy... We waited for over half an hour as the guy with the pickup truck and the target stands was late making his way out to us... Cold and irritated, we humped the stands, made from saw horses, H-Stands etc.. out to several hundred yards... looked for rocks to weigh them down in the wind, bent stakes to hold them, etc.. and then humped back 800 yards to finally put rounds down range...
Within a few shots, the wind had blown down one stand and bullet strike had downed another... back to humping out to hopefully reset the targets.. One we could, the other was done...(not counting the one that was unviewable due to the rolling ground...)
I thought, "there has to be a better way"... that's when the idea of The Last Stand was born!
I wanted to design a target stand that could hold paper or steel, be adjustable to varying terrain, Free standing (so no rocks or tent stakes), didn't need a pick up truck to transport, durable enough to withstand the occasional bullet strike (everything downrange eventually gets hit) and affordable!
The Last Stand fits all of those requirements..
Since that time, we have sent our stands across the United States and several foreign countries including Finland, Norway, Germany, France (they can have guns?), Australia, Tasmania and more...
My family said "thats a great idea!" and I thought, it's a great idea if someone is willing to take their hard earned dollars out of their pocket to purchse them, so we'll see.....
Well, people apparently believe it is a great idea and we have been so grateful to the several thousand people that have taken a chance on a new idea!
To date, we have only had one set returned as possibly defective and I got to tell you, I don't know what he/she was shooting, or maybe detonating, on the stand but it was brutal! I sent a replacement set on the condition they would send the parts back so I could see if there was a materiel problem or what.... fact is, the set was still perfectly usable! ( I would so love to see what they did though)...
I am very grateful for all the folks that have "taken the hard earned dollars out of their pocket" and taken a chance on The Last Stand and I am confident you will love yours too!
